My "for faces" sun block failed me today.I am fried. It looks like I'm going to have to put the body stuff on my face and hope I don't break out. While sitting on the beach today Steve pointed out to the waves."Hey Maeve, is that a seal?" he asked.I couldn't see anything and told him so. When he insisted that it was there I suggested that maybe he killed one too many brain cells in his youth. But low and behold, it was.It was a young seal and it was just drifting with the current. It then started to swim towards a group of kids playing. Luckily those kids knew to get the hell out of there. Seals generally avoid humans. This poor young thing was sick and I knew the current would bring it past where Pudd'n was playing. So I went out and stayed by Pudd'n because he would not know that you are not supposed to touch a wild animal like that. The seal hung around some surfers a bit before being carried off. One of the surfers confirmed my suspicions that the seal was sick. The surfer said the seal would not last more than an hour.It was also a good day for dolphins. We saw at least a dozen of them through out the day. Labels: beaches, dolphins, seals
