I'm so SEXAY!
I've got my favorite "granny jammies" on and my hair is in curlers. You know you want me! Tomorrow is the annual B.D. barn party. Steve and I will get together with all of my "horse" friends to fight over horse themed ornaments. I make 2 dozen of my crab meat deviled eggs for this event too. I've gotten some lovely ornaments over the years from this party. I've also got scars from the fights that break out too. Just kidding. Another thing that makes this even funnier is we always wonder who Lori will bring to the party this year. For the past 8 years, Lori has been bouncing between her husband and her boyfriend. The creepy part (well it's creepy to us) is that the boyfriend is the ex husband of one of her close friends. Well, used to be close friends. Lori and her husband Chad used to hang out with Pete & Katy. After several years and two kids, Pete decides he does not want to be married any more and divorces Katy. Then a few months later Lori & Chad calls it quits. Lori & Pete now hook up. Then they break up and Chad's back in the picture. This goes on for every few months. Breaking up and making up and all I can think is "what message are they sending to their kids?". So Steve got the scoop on who Lori is bringing this year so we don't stand there slacked jawed like we were last year. Oh yeah. Pete & Chad work for the same company too.

Update on LL's Christmas meme.
My favorite Christmas song is "Carol of the bells" and I do hate "I saw mommy kissing Santa Claus". It turns out I do have a tradition too. I put on Christmas music as I decorate the house. When I come across the pooh bear in a santa hat picture frame I start crying. Pudd'n is 6 months old in the picture. He's in a Santa suit and sitting on Santa's lap. He's got a big happy smile on his face.

Lissie sent this personal ad to me.
Too bad I'm married, I think I'm in love............. Maeve. I think this is the guy for you! (IF you were looking..) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I like women naked with hooker pumps on. Female cops (not the dyke ones) & most waitresses at beer joints, and sometimes UPS women. But NOT Fed Ex women. A man's got to draw the line somewhere, after all. Between work, dogs, acting, and being busy, I get to actually ride my Indian Motorcycle only a few times during the week here in Austin. I make a "vroom vroom" sound with my mouth when I ride, too, so listen for it. I'm 47-but all of my 3 friends say I don't look a day over 45. Good genetics, I guess, although admittedly all of my friends have pretty bad vision. Come to think of it, they lie like hell too. But, like the famous saying goes: A man with three blind, lying friends can always (or maybe it was can never) say or do...Something, something, something, etc. Anyway, I read it inside a Snapple cap- or was it on the side of a Mike's Hard Lemonade bottle? I often confuse the two. It makes me popular at the office, but an HR nightmare. But I digress...I have all my own teeth, a nipple ring, (why the fuck did I do that??) have never been CONVICTED of a crime (heh heh, CONVICTED), and I don't trust people who don't eat sushi to save my life- although I don't pass judgment on those who don't (Luby's eating pussies) Fuzzy kittens are my favorite things-especially with hot wings sauce. Yum. If asked, people usually describe me as "That guy standing over there"- unless I'm sitting, in which case, obviously, it becomes "That guy sitting over there". I like to mix it up to keep people off balance. I'm quirky that way. I play pool sometimes and have been told that although my bank shots suck, but...I love killer racks- hehehe.... ?? I've got a devious, retributive mean streak, with no sense of humor. I am as comfortable wearing a tux as I am wearing a ball gag with leather wrist and ankle restraints. I do a great Indian accent when I'm slitty eyed drunk. Those are my good qualities. My bad ones far outnumber them in both quantity and significance. However, revisit the "rack" comment...One day I'd like to try snowboarding, male pole dancing, and ending world hunger. The next day, I'll rest. I'm trying to pace myself. I dig the Weather Channel, I type fast, and sometimes I watch Mr. Ed reruns on Telemundo, just for yucks. Floyd the Barber on Mayberry is my role model. I don't mind a woman who likes to play mind games-especially ones like Battleship or Operation, but ones like Mousetrap get too messy and clutter my mind, so I guess I should say SOME mind games welcome. Movies? I like the classics- like Joe Dirt, Caddyshack, Borate and Casino Royale. Friggn sweet. Like I've said a billion times, I don't like exaggerations. I also think liars and mean people suck. Seriously. Brushes with fame? I was in a elevator with Ozzy many years ago- nice guy. We actually didn't even say a thing. But I heard him, and he heard me. Also, when I was on a flight to London this past summer I touched Jerry Springer, who was in my cabin. He was asleep at the time (I know...kinda creepy, but it still counts), so I have his DNA in a petri dish. In case any of you recreational chemists out there want to hook up with me in my evil plan to take over the world by cloning Jerry Springers. Truth be told, I really don't want to take over the world, but MAN, I would give my eye teeth to commandeer a fire truck and make it mine, all mine. Muuuuaaaahhhh......Anyhoo, my mom said I'm 'special' and her coven agrees. I may have ADHD, wanna rides bikes?? Don't say you weren't warned...

A Christmas Meme compliments of the lovely LL.
1. What is the worst Christmas gift you ever received? I'm going to go with the year I got nothing because the ex spent all his money on drugs. 2. Two weeks before Christmas you win $1 million. You have to spend it all by the end of the year and you cannot buy anything for yourself. How do you celebrate the holidays? I pay off the morgages for my immidate family, sent up trust fund for Pudd'n. Pay for my family to come out here and have a snow free Yule. Donate money to autism programs, animal shelter, homeless shelters and other worthy causes. 3. Do you have any family traditions? What are they and do you continue the tradition in your own household? The only tradition is in Steve's family. His mother cooks the traditional all fish dinner on Xmas eve and on Xmas day she makes prime rib. 4. What is your favorite smell from this season? Pine trees Or Party Lite "Holiday spices". 5. Do you regift? (That’s when you get something you hate and give it to someone else on another Christmas later): nope 6. If you have kids, how hard do you try to preserve the myth of Santa Claus? What do you do to keep the Fat Man “alive?” Lost that pleasure to autism. 7. When do you decorate your house and tree? When do you take everything down? Are you one of those batshit crazy people that does a countdown to Christmas (who anticipate that one day as if it is the birth of your firstborn)? I decorate the week after Thanksgiving and everything is taken down before New Years. 8. Do you sing along with the Christmas muzak in the stores? What’s your favorite Christmas song and which is the one that you hate so badly that you go postal and run amok in the aisles of Walmart when you hear it? I don't sing a long. My favorite tune is.......fuck.......I don't know the title. There isn't one that I don't care for, but steve hates my Cajun Christmas cd and forbids me to play it in his presents. You folks know what to do. Tag, you ALL are it!

posted by Maeve at 12:40 PM Monday, November 27, 2006 I. am. whipped. Holy shit what a busy day! Working, shopping, cooking and making up packages to be shipped back home for the holiday. I have a feeling I'm going to fall asleep before my son tonight. Here is Pudd'n with his new favorite toy that I got him. Every night I come up with a new design to roll the marbles down. It only holds his interest for about 10 minutes, but it's worth it. The smile on his face is so sweet. He's really growing and changing and we are excited about it. He is barely watching his videos. He prefers regular tv now! Night before last I got him to color with me for 10 minutes. That was a first, I'm usually lucky to get 30 seconds out of him with that. Now if you'll excuse me. I'm going to try to catch up on a few blogs before Pudd'n comes out of the tub. Will some one rub some BenGay on me? My back is killing me.

posted by Maeve at 2:56 PM Does it ever feel good to be home! Since Steve is sick (and on call) it was entirely up to me to keep Pudd'n entertained. Since it's too cold for the beach now, we have to find other things to do. Steve renewed our passes to the Zoo/ Wild Animal park and damn am I glad he did! The polar bears are my absolute, totally and utterly my favorite animals! As you can see, they were having a grand time today. What a show they put on. My second favorite animals were the raptors. Those pictures did not turn out as nice because of the mesh encloser. Pudd'n and I had a great time. Traffic wasn't too bad, so my swearing was down. Now I'm home, in my jammies, candles are lighted and I'm enjoying some wine. Steve is holding down soup and tea, so hopefully he'll have a better night.

Ack!
It sucks to be me right now. Steve is sicker than a dog right now. Steve never gets sick. And to top off how sick my poor husband is, Pudd'n is having a reaction to the new heavy metal detox. Yeah me! Pudd'ns reaction right now is a lot of crying and he's just a wee bit agressive. I'm putting the dose back down to 1/8 th of a teaspoon. He's been doing just fine on that for the past two weeks. So I've got one in our room shaking like he's got the dt's and running to the bathroom and in the other I have a tatruming child crying and beating pillows. It's going to be a long fucking night.

Do you know what was really nice about yesterday for our guests? Where ever we went, strangers stopped them to say "Thank you". The guys were obviously young and got carded when we stopped at a few bars. At a bar in the harbor, a gentleman paid for my beer since they could not have one. He thanked the guys and I thanked him for my brew. When we went to the pier, we at first thought we'd have to leave because dogs were not allowed. We chatted with the manager of the resturant while the guys went trolling. We explained that Goat Puppy really was a compainion animmal, he just had the day off since our son was at my mom's. There we were, just shooting the shit with this guy when he says " ah screw it, make sure the dog sits under the table and if any one asks, you showed me your card stating that your dog is a companion animal".
It was a great day all in all. It was nice to see Athena, Aussie and M at lunch. Their dogs enjoyed the day out too. Athena's lost some weight and looks good. Now I've got my Pudd'n home. I think we'll go pick up some carrots and go feed the horses.

Yesterday some very lucky Marines got picked up in some limos! On person hosted 16 men for the day! The only gripe I have is that my guys did not eat enough in my opinion! Eat more! I felt like an Italian grandma saying "eat! eat!" all the time. At lunch all of us swap what we don't want to eat for what we do with each other. I don't care for the creamed spinch I give it to steve. Bart did not want his yams, he gave it to me. I said something along the lines of "wasn't that easy" when Fucking Moron pipes up. Yeah Maeve we all know how easy you are. I looked at him and said "well bless your heart for noticing. Yep, I'm a very easy person." He then realized his smarmy remarks were not going to get me riled and he slurred back with "well I try to be easy, but no one wants it" Well do you think maybe if you SOBERED UP some one might?
I also found out he let the crab infested cunt move back in too last month for another short stay. What ended this stay? They both got drunk and then the Cunt started threatening to kill them all with a steak knife. The neighbor had to call the cops when they heard the commotion. Do you think the FM pressed charges? Oh hell no! Ack! Any way, on to happier thoughts. We were on a mission yesterday to find the guys some girls to chat with. We ended up down at the SC pier to check out the new to us monument for the Marines. Steve and I hung out at the resturant there while the guys when trolling. It was a nice and relaxing day. One of the guys started falling asleep on the ride back to base. Mission accomplished. Two well fed and tired Marines.

What a loooong day!
We took Pudd'n to Chucky Cheese for breakfast and then we went to a local wildnerness park for a quick hike. Spent the rest of the day cooking, baking and cleaning. Then to Pump*t up for some autistic fun. I am ready for bed.

It figures, I've got the day off and I can't sleep in!
I've been busy baking and getting the house ready for the Marines I'll be picking up tomorrow (I'll be thinking of you LL as I drive through Pendleton!). For those of you who don't know, every year we are lucky to "adopt" two Marines from basic training for Thanksgiving day. We stuff them full of food and subject them to our loveable, yet disfunctional family. I've got several batches of cookies baked and I'll be making a spice cake too. I also picked ups steaks to grill for later on. We always do Thanksgiving lunch at Tivoli. I want to make sure these guys are full when they go back to base. Steve got the dogs washed yesterday and I'll be brushing the goat puppy again. I've never had a dog that sheds so damn much! We'll be keeping lint rollers on hand so the guys will not have dog hair all over their uniform. We've started Pudd'n on a new detox for heavy metals program. So far so good. No behavioral issues yet. It is still a bitch getting him to take it, he's got such a gag reflex.

As I am sure most of you may know by now the Combating Autism Act is in under consideration by the House of Representatives in the Energy and Commerce Committee. Joe Barton, the Chair of the committee, will let the bill go forward if the remaining $45 million for environmental research is stripped out. That will mean that there will be no vaccine research, no mercury research and no environmental research-- Please take a few minutes and follow the lin below to the ACHAMP website where you can send emails directly to your representatives.
http://capwiz. com/a-champ/ issues/alert/ ?alertid= 9178091&type=ML With this key research ignored almost all the federally-funded scientific research will be the same old dead-end genetics that we have seen yield absolutely nothing except a never ending stream of reports about the newly discovered "autism gene." There must be at least 100 of them by now. Some argue that we need to compromise. However, we see no evidence of compromise among those who would deny an environmental and vaccine connection to autism. Compromise is not the same thing as surrender. This bill offers us and our children virtually nothing. This bill will set the research agenda for the next five years. We believe that if Barton persists in this posture that we would be better off waiting for the new committee chair who will take over in a few weeks. Please contact your Representatives in the House and ask them to insist that the environmental and vaccine research provisions be put back in the bill. And please spread the word though any listservs, yahoogroups, blogs, and other online communities or networks of any kind that you may belong to. You may see the action alert by following the link below. Thanks for your help and this may be the single most important autidsm issue we have dealt with in the past few years. http://capwiz. com/a-champ/ issues/alert/ ?alertid= 9178091&type=ML Sincerely, John Gilmore

posted by Maeve at 9:19 PM Sunday, November 19, 2006 My friends & family are a bunch of comidians. I had Lili calling me the night before saying "you nervous? got cold feet? going to back out?" Then my cousin started in with "let me explain your wedding night to you, it is not like they portray it in the movies". Smart asses. It was a great day yesterday. The weather was good, the food pleantiful and the company festive. Dru made enough deviled eggs for an army! We had a lot of food lefte over for people to take home. Several desserts too. Pudd'n spent the entire time in the pool and when he was ready to go, my parents took him back to their place. Steve, Babs and I stayed until the end to help clean up. Aunt Selma's club house is the perfect spot for family get togethers. Every one ate themselves in to a food coma. Babs and I had our secrect stash of Dewars to sip on. My cousin Jenny claimed the wine for herself. This time around was a hell of a lot more enjoyable than the first time Steve & I tied the knot.

I was over at Lil' Toni's place and she had asked about cars you used to drive.
My favorite memorys were when I had my dad's Chevy Blazer. It was a 70's vehicle, so you know it was a tank. After it died I drove a Ford Mavrick. It was electric blue in color. Then I started to think about alllll the crazy shit I did as a teeenager while driving those cars. And the crazy bitches & ho's (Spaz & Lissie) that road in those cars with me. What was the craziest thing YOU did in high school? Or who was the craziest friend you had?

I am commiting a one of the seven deadly sins barflies...........
Slothfulness...... Yes, I have slipped in to being slothful with my appearance again. I am just too damn tired to put any type of attempt not to look like a haggard mom. I'm glad this is the last week of therapy before we get a break from it. I need it. When I got my hair "done" (choke, sputter) last weekend, the girl asked me "So what do you do for yourself?" I gave her a deer in the head lights look and replied "Uhhhhhhh.......drink?" It was really depressing to think I really did not have some sort of out let other than drinking. Sure I get on the treadmill each morning, but since I drink I know that cancels out any slimming benifits. I view going on the treadmill as a chore, not something I find enjoyable. I used to get together with my bitches & ho's at least once a week, but life has pulled us in different directions and we are lucky to find the time to get together once a month. It has been so busy lately, I don't have time for anything. I'm lucky to carve out an hour to try and check out blogs or even post here. After this weekend, I hope things slow up a bit. I'm tired.

posted by Maeve at 4:45 PM Tuesday, November 14, 2006 Hey Barfliles, how was your weekend? As you all know, we did the Marine Corps Ball on Sat. On Sunday we went to my nephew's 1st b'day party. It was held at my step sister's in law's place. They have a big family and lots of grandkids. Their back yard is huge! It has a swimming pool, delux jungle gym, putting green and they rented a bounce house. Pudd'n was a very happy little man with so much to play with. Here is a shot of him and his grampy playing golf. Eat your heart out Tiger Woods! My candle party was nice. 4 out of 8 people that rsvp'd showed up. I had a lot of catalog orders from the girls I work with. So I got $200 in free crack. That is a lot of wax to burn. I think I'm set for the year on candles now. I've been so busy with everything I almost forgot this weekend is the renewal of our wedding vows and family turkey day. Plus I'm going to have to bake up a storm for the actual turkey day for the marines we'll be adopting for the day. We like to send them back to base with a "care package". Work was a wee bit slow tonight, so Slappy told me to make myself a drink and have a good time. He didn't have to tell me twice. I also pigged out on some chips and salsa. The salsa was so spicy, it cleared my sinuses and made my eyes water. It tasted good going down but I know tomorrow I'll be miserable.

The only thing differently I would have done was decorate the table like the rest and put out each course of food. Notice the little orb in the seat? I think it's some one in spirit, Steve says it's a dust mote. We had a good time dancing. We slow danced and I would dance to any salsa type music. I was sure glad I was wearing slippers! And no Aussie, they were not the furry kind!

posted by Maeve at 11:26 AM Yeah, this picture sucks. But it's going to have to do. This was during the cake ceremony where the oldes Marine gave some to the youngest Marine. Everything was perfect last night (except for my hair. No, I'm not bitter). All the men looked so handsome and the women beautiful. The DJ played great music and the food was fabulous. I loved to watch the young men dance and get goofy. Some of the girls were "freak dancing" and of course there was the posing drunkinly for pictures. We had a nice time chatting with Msgt. M and his wife. Their friends J & M were seated at our table. J is no longer in the service. They had great stories to tell about the misadventures they were on. I was on my best behavior and did not molest any tastey young Marines. Not to say I wasn't busy molesting Steve. He looked HOT!

posted by Maeve at 8:00 AM Every thing was great except for my hair. The salon I go to screwed up and did not book me with my regular girl. Another one did it and all the curl fell out. I told her my hair is HARD. TO. CURL. It looked like shit before we even left the house. Hell, it looked like I did my own hair. I called to complain and they are supposed to not cash my check. I wasn't going to pay that kind of money for a hair style I could of done (and had to try & redo) myself.

Here is a little preview of my dress. Tomorrow I get my hair done, I can't wait.
Guys have it lucky. To get Steve's tux took 30 min and cost less than $100. Me? I needed two fittings, appointment to get my hair done, took 3 hours to find this dress, had to dye my shoes and buy special "suck it in and hold it together" undergarments. Lame Giant had a great bra for this dress. I'm going with a strapless bra and this bra actually supports the girls. It does not just mash them down. The girdle actually has an opening for when "nature calls". I had a better idea for that opening. Find a nice comfty coat closet and recreate the scene from the Godfather where Sonny is banging the bridesmaid. Steve looks hot in his tux! I was ready to attack him last night he looked so yummy! Now I just have to figure out what jewelry I'm going to wear with this dress.

Shades of my mother....
I love my mother, very much. She's a warm, caring person and she's a damn fine cook. She's just a wee bit eccentric. She loves the color purple to the point of obscession. Everything and I mean everything is purple in her house and what she wears. If she likes it and it's not purple, she'll spray paint it or dye it. My mom does not like to wear shoes, never has. She wears house slippers every where. And since she can't always find them in the color purple, she buys white ones and dyes them. Guess what I was doing last night while watching my boys kick some Canadian ass? I was dying a pair of white slippers purple so I could wear them to the ball this weekend. I couldn't stop giggling as I watched them turn a beautiful deep shade. I'm wearing slippers because my dress is floor length, I want to be comfortable and I'm already 3 inches taller than Steve. I don't need something with any type of heel to accentuate this. I did the same thing on my wedding day, my feet did not ache and we looked to be the same height in the pics. Speaking of the ball, I went to pick up my dress yesterday and the darn thing was still too big! So back I go tomorrow. At first they wanted me to pick it up at 5pm. I don't think so slappy. Traffic out here SUCKS. I hate driving to begin with and honestly the last thing I want to do is drive the 405 on a fucking friday night! I told them I wanted the dress ready at 1pm instead. Well, I'd better get my ass in gear. I'm having a candle party tonight and I still need to clean up the house a bit.

Yesterday we got a nice suprise in the mail from my Evil Auntie.
She sent me a check to help put a dent in the small fortune we are dropping on the new therapy and gentic testing we are doing for Pudd'n. Neither insurance will cover. www.thelisteningcenter.net The above link is where I'm taking Pudd'n for a block of therapy. I've already seen small improvments in the few words he does have. The genetic testing is going to tell us which way and what will work medically best for Pudd'n in our fight against autism. Keep your fingers crossed for us barflies. Something has got to work.

Man am I whipped.
We have Pudd'n in a new therapy. It is our second week out of the first three. Three weeks on, three weeks off. Two weeks on, two weeks off We do two more of the two week rounds after that. I have to pull him out of school early for the 2 hour a day therapy. Rush home where Steve helps with dinner. I had a great time with Babs last night. We went up to the mall so I could get a fancy strapless bra to hold the girls up. Shopping is always an adventure for us. Hell, just going out in the general public is an adventure. We always manage to amuse ourselves no matter where we are.

What a great weekend so far.
We did not stay long at Home coming. Earlier in the day I had managed to take a misstep off my neighbor's porch and took a header in her rosemary bush. Graceful eh? They had done a really great job at decorating the grounds of the school. They turned the back parking lot in to a mini night club. So between my knee and the fact the event was out side (I still have a cold); we did not stay long. Today was warm enough to venture in to Aunt Selma's pool. Now it 's time to relax before I have to get ready for work. Hope all of you are having a nice weekend.

Stole this from the lovely LL. She has the link to go check out your alcoholoscope.
"I'm just a social drinker," slurs Libra, "it's just that I'm so damn social?" Libra loves nothing more than to party, mingle and relate to everyone. Whether dipped in favor of Good Libra (with Insta-Friend device set to "on") or heavier on the Evil Libra side (they are little instigators when bored), the Scales can really work a room. Charming as they are, Libras are notoriously lacking in self-control, however, which can get them into all sorts of trouble--including wearing their wobbly boots waaaay too early in the evening, flirting with their best friend's beau or even blacking out the night's events entirely. Oops!

Here are my four legged babies trying to share the dog bed. Too cute eh?
We got Steve's tux last night. It took a whole 30 min. compared to my 3 hour excursion last week. I can't wait to see him in it, he is going to look so handsome!

Heh heh heh heh.........
I saw a licsence plate frame today I'd have to own if I were single. "If you are going to ride my ass, pull my hair".

I just hung up the phone with my new sister in law. Seems she "pulled a Maeve" and took a header down her basement stairs. After viewing said stairs on my trip home, it does not suprise me. Those suckers were at least at a 75 degree angle. Lucky for her, she's petite and my brother is a strapping 6'5. He scooped her up and carried her to the car and to the inept emergency room that they had available to them. Fuckers sent her home with nothing but muscle relaxors. Oh yeah, she has a FRACTURED TAILBONE!!! Obviously those fucktards can't read xrays. She's now on some good pain killers and suffering with my brother's cooking.
I can't breath due to this cold. As long as I'm well for the Marine Corps Ball is all I care about. Steve said he hopes he does not catch it; I told him I'm going with or with out him. Tomorrow we'll go fit him for the tux. Let's get the partay started!
