Moving further up the food chain at work.
Damn! A lot went on this weekend at the restuarant and we lost two people. One quit (tweaker) and the other was fired (Betty).It seems Betty was none too happy that she did not get a station that she wanted. So she did her usual bitching & moaning and making sure every one knew her displeasure. Well she got sat at one of her tables and for what ever reason she made them wait.
She made them wait 10 minutes.
It was Barb the manager that sat these people, so she knows just how long these people were sitting. The people complained to Barb, she apologised and offered them a free appitizer while taking their drink order. Barb went up to Betty, told her to light a fire under her ass, these people were pissed for having to wait so long to get service.
Betty goes over to the table and starts yelling at the customers.
"Why did you tell my manager you were waiting 10 minutes?! I never leave my tables sitting for that long". When the customers ask her to stop yelling at them Betty leans in closer and yells "I'm not yelling at you".
Needless to say, these people walked out. The table next to Betty's party that walked out witnessed everything and pulled Barb aside to let her know what had happened.
Needless to say, Betty was fired.
Tonight I get to train one of our cooks to be a waiter. Eric is a great guy and a lot of fun to joke around with. He's billingual, so that is a plus. He's also very nervous about doing this.
Barb asked me to train him since everyone else that is working tonight is fresh out of training themselves.
I turned to Eric, gave him an evil grin and said "welcome to the dark side honey".
Eric looked visably nervous so I leaned closer in to his personal space and said "it's ok sugar, I'm real gentle with my virgins".
Barb yelled at me to knock it off and to quit terrorizing Eric.
I told her not to worry. I'll make Eric my bitch and train him real good.
