Doing my best to stay out of the drama
I love my new job, I really do. But what I'm now remembering about being in a big restaurant as opposed to Slappy's place was the work drama. More people, more personalities means a lot more drama. I do my best to stay out of it. I want to do my job, make money and go home. I don't want to get sucked in to things. But last night I had a real hard time. We were dead and then got slammed and of course we had the hosts that didn't know how to seat for shit. When we got a small lull in the chaos one girl decides she wants to be cut. She really didn't want to be there, she gave away all her tables. I had a moment to help out so I offered to help the expo run the food to her big party.Big mistake.
They all needed drink refills and I could not find the little bitch. I don't mind helping out, but if you are not doing YOUR job you are taking me away from taking care of MY customers. I filled what I could, several drinks needed to come from the bar and they won't make them with out a ticket.
I don't know who ended up picking up her big party but I'm sure the tip wasn't going to be great since LB didn't do shit for this party and just let them sit there for long periods of time before she pawned them off.
Then of course there is Saul, he's always creating some sort of drama and chaos.
I have to remind my self that these are kids that are 18-20 something. They live for shit like this. Me & Karen (a girl my age) just roll our eyes and do our job.
