I love my new job.
What a difference a good, quality eating establishment can make. Every one is so friendly and happy. Managment is not swearing and degrading to their staff. The food is out of this world!!!Tonight I had calamari, shrimp scampi and tiramisu. Gotdamn was that the best food I've ever had. They are right up there with my MIL's cooking. I cannot wait for tomorrow so I can try more food off the menu. The guy that was "training" me tonight actually let me keep the tips off the few tables he let me take. I just had to keep fishing his card key for the computer out of his shirt pocket. He thought that was funny. I really don't need the training, I just have to find the rythm & flow and figure out the computer and I'm golden.
The air feels a little better out here. Steve told me of what our friend Pat has been doing these past four days. Pat owns horses and he lives in the Ocean side area. They were hit pretty hard with the fires. Pat spent three days pulling a 12 horse trailer and helped to evacuate 1,200 horses. He said two got away and perished in the fire ( I told Steve I really didn't need to hear that part). The cops gave every one magnetic signs saying "Sherrif" to put on the horse trailers so they could easily move about. On the fourth day since the freeway was closed, Pat drove to feed stores to get food for the horses. Several feed stores just gave him the food.
OMG, I think I ate too much food. But damn it was good.
