Tuesday, July 31, 2007 Technotard no more.......sort of..........The lovely and talented Chickie showed me how to do some linky love. Now to teach this old dog a few more tricks so she don't feel like a technotard no more.I wonder how they are doing at the house of mouse. I'll be making Chickie some Cosmos tonight.

 Yesterday was Sea World. This was the first ride we went on. Chickie got 110% soaking wet. It was a good thing her t-shirt had a print on it, because she definitely would of won a wet t-shirt contest if S.W. were to have one. We of course saw Shamu, it was a stunning show. Today is the land of the mouse for our travelers. Me? I'm staying home. I know better than to go in the summer time (snicker). I think I'll just take Pudd'n down to the beach and wait for the phone call of "get me out of this crowded insane place" from Chickster. I'll make sure the martinis are waiting for her when she gets back. She is going to need them. Labels: more traveling fun

Monday, July 30, 2007  What gets me more excited than hockey players? Andalusian horses. Especially if they are performing "airs above ground" or Dressage. The show was fabulous last night, the food was good and the company even better. We had front row seats so I was able to drool over the horses easier. Chickies chicklets are darling!! And it was weird, it didn't feel like I was meeting Chickie for the first time. It was if we knew each other already. She was commenting on how dull our American money is. I have to agree, her Canadian currency is prettier. I told her that Sheri (FW2) gave me two coins, one with a bear and one with a loon ( at this point I think I heard Steve mumble you are a loon Maeve). Today they check out and check in to my place and we are off to Sea World. Labels: vacation

I just got done stocking up on supplies for my up coming house guests. Now all that is left is the last minute cleaning of a few things.
The beach was perfect today, nice small waves and not very crowded. GP was ecstatic to go surfing with me. We were there for four and half hours today. Tomorrow night we go to a drumming circle on the beach. That should be fun to do under the very full moon. Sunday will find us picking up Chickie and going to Medieval Times. MMMM..... men in chain mail on horse back!

Tonight for a fine gourmet meal we took Pudd'n to the restaurant that boasts a large rodent and cardboard pizza.
Oh yeah, a kid can be a kid. Loosely translated: my kid looks normal stemming about with the other kids. As I was sitting there waiting for our meal, Steve was off helping Pudd'n with the video games. Steve catches my eye and directs me to a very tall, dark man. The man turns. OH. MY. GAWD.!!!! It is K. Carney formally of the Ducks. I love me some K. Carney and I'm a very bitter witch those bastards traded him. I have several photos of him & Pudd'n from games and when Mr. Carney did the Walk Now for autism a few years back. My greedy eyes devoured him as he walked about playing games with his kids. I think I started visibly drooling when I started to picture him nekkid. I casually remarked that maybe I would go over and say "Hi". Steve told me not to, I'd probably end up dry humping the guys leg and that would not look too good in front of his kids. (Mommy? What is that lady doing to daddy's leg???)

 Lookie barflies! I can promote autism awareness while getting my drink on!!! I have several of these types of drink holders that I use to imbibe with when going to major events (i.e. Ren. Fair, Irish Festival, grocery shopping). I only use these cups when I know Steve is driving. Hmmm....since he'll be doing all the driving with Chickie here, maybe I can fill one up for her with some Watermelon Martini or some of her "bitch beer". Labels: getting your drink on in style

In about 5 hours Chickie and her chicklets will be arriving at LAX. I wish they could of come in through SNA, they would of been only 20 min from their hotel instead of an hour or better. I'll be picking her up Sunday to go out to Medievl Times for dinner and Monday they come to stay here. Every thing is ready with the exception of a few things that can be cleaned last minute. I think I have enough snacks for her son (you know how teenage boys can pack away the food).
The waves were brutal at the beach today. Pudd'n likes them like that. I do not. That under tow can be a real bitch. Last day of school tomorrow, then it is all about spending every day at the beach all day. I'm going to be all nice and tan with some funky tan lines thanks to three different swim suits. In one month my baby sister gets married. I pity the fool that is marring in to our family.

Slappy was in super prick mode when I came in to work tonight.
He barked some orders at me. I looked at him and said: "Oh really? Care to rephrase that?" He stood there slack jawed for a moment and left. Yeah, I didn't think so. I'm not your wife mother fucker and I'm not some peon. You don't talk to me like that. We've had more bus boys and cooks quit because of Slappy's demeaning attitude and verbal abuse than I can count. When Steve & Pudd'n came in for dinner I told them that Slappy was in one of his moods and if he talked to me again like that I was walking out. Lucky for Slappy he has half a brain cell and didn't give me any more shit for the rest of the evening. Labels: I don't put up with shit.

I managed to pick up a nail in my right front tire, so off to get it fix am I today.
My ipod is charged and I got the new HP book to keep me company. I hate doing stuff like this. It is such a waste of time. Maybe if they had some decent looking mechanics I wouldn't mind so much. Speaking of cars, I'm going to have to clean the three inches of sand and tweleve inches of dog hair out of the short bus before I drive around Chickie. Blessed relief.
Aunt Flo finally showed in the middle of my work out at the gym. Oh joy! At least the damn thing started now I'm feeling normal again. It never ceases to amaze me how bad the cravings are and how whacked out and depressed my thought process is during the week before her arrival. I took Pudd'n to Chuck e. chez for lunch. OMG! OMG! OMG!!!!!
Chickie and her brood are going to be here next week!!!! There is still a lot that needs to be done around here. Yes, it is anal rententive small shit that she won't notice because we will be either A) Too tired from our excursions B) Too drunk or C) all of the above Steve had another early morning shift today. He got to the job site on a major street at 3 am. At 5 am a cop pulled up, parked, got out of the car and approached Steve & Carlos. He asked them if they had seen a hot looking , drunk brunette walk or drive by. WTF? right? Apparently a party had just broken up and this girl supposedly walked home. She was really drunk according to her friends and they were worried. The cops were worried she was driving instead of walking. So two patrol cars were going around trying to find her. Steve, being the smart ass that he is told the cop: A drunk hot brunette walking around? Damn, I could of had me a date! Yeah right honey. She'd have to be drunk to want your skinny Italian ass! My chiropractic office has three massue. So far I've mostly been handled by the two girls they have there.
Today I got to meet Mike. HOLY. SHIT. That man worked some serious Voodoo on my neck! I have not been able to move this freely in years (here, lets loosen up the scar tissue). It felt like his fingers were inside my neck moving shit around. And of course I am sore as all get out now. I was a good girl and drank a bunch of water to flush those "toxins" out. Now I'm drinking whiskey to help dull the pain. I have an appointment with him every week until I leave for Michigan next month. I think I'm in love. When I got home I noticed two bible thumpers chatting with my neighbor. He looked mighty uncomfortable. He caught my eye as I pulled up in my drive way. I started laughing and pointing at him. And then I though of Keesie and his story with bible thumpers. He saw them coming up his walk. He dropped trou, grabbed a bourbon bottle in one hand and his daughter's dolly in the other. He could not understand why the bible thumpers left so abruptly with out giving him the hug he asked for. So while this image if flashing through my mine I really start laughing. Gotdamn am I tired.
The fair was fun enough with the exception of one ride that would not open until 12pm. The ride that Pudd'n wanted to go on the most. Autistic tantrums ensued for a good part of the day. Another thing that did not open until noon that was ready to send me in to a tail spin was the beer booth. All in all it was a good day, a hot day. I am beyond tired right now and have raging PMS. And I have no idea why comments show up one time and then they don't another. I'm having the same problem when I go visit Chickie at Blissful Bedlam.

I just made a home made pizza. None of that store bought crap dough either. I made a spinach, feta/mozt che, garlic and onion pizza. It smells heavenly in my house right now. I'm really liking having the summer off. But it is going to suck not getting a pay check for Aug/Sept. I'm getting all sorts of stuff done around the house and even picking up doing Steve's share of the things since he's working 6 days a week.  I was a baaaaaaaad witch yesterday. I climbed up on a ladder. Last time I climbed this particular ladder I fell off and sprained both wrists. While Steve was out I got a wild hair up my ass and thought I would hang the lovely hand blown green glass ball you see pictured. Sheri gave it to me when she came to visit last month. Her friend Erica makes them. As you can see, I've already got a light purple one, so I was tickled to get the new addition. My living room ceilings are vaulted, so I needed that dreaded ladder. Even though I'm 5'10 in bare feet, I still needed to use the top step. All I could think was that Steve would wring my neck if he found me crumpled on the floor from falling off the damn thing. Luckily, this did not happen and I got the hook in the ceiling with no problem. Labels: pretty things

Ugh. Tomorrow we go to the Fair. They are having their annual "Friends of the Fair Day" where special needs people come in early with their family/school and ride selected rides for free. I of course will drag Pudd'n to the petting zoo because mommy needs to love on some goats. I swear my kid does an eye roll when ever he sees a petting zoo. Steve took the day off for tomorrow, so it will be a nice family day. I worked last night for Slappy. I stood around for 2 hours before the first table of the night came in. So much for closing on Sunday as he claimed he was going to do. The other waiter is no longer working on Sundays either. The cook and bus boy were telling me how slow Sundays are now. Can you say crash & burn? It just never ceases to amaze me how the owner refuses to see how Slappy is running the restaurant in to the ground. Oh well, not my problem. I tried to tell him in the past, but he would not listen. |
