I picked up Pudd'n from my mom's this morning. I call him in to the bathroom to brush his teeth and I notice right off the bat his thumb and part of his hand are red and swollen.
I freaked.
"MOM! What the fuck happened to my kid's hand?!?!?"
She had just gotten up herself and had not yet seen it. Near as I can figure it is a spider bite he's having a reaction to. His eyes look a little puffy too. I'm sitting here trying to stay calm and not have visions of brown recluse spiders or black widows bititng my kid. The doctor won't be in until 9 am, the walk in clinic does not open until 9 am either. I'd go to emergency, but by the time they'd get to him, it would be 9 am. So here I sit, quietly freaking out.
Yesterday was a great mother's day. We spent the morning at the beach having a blast. Water was still too damn cold, but you wouldn't know it looking at my kid and his dog play in it. Pudd'n then went to grandmaland while we grocery shopped. Steve cooked me dinner and I watched the Redwings choke and lose in round 2 in the quest for Lord Stanley's cup.
Say a prayer of strength for me barflies. Taking Pudd'n to see a doctor is no easy task. He hates them and it is emotionally draining for both of us.
