Everything happens for a reason right?

I didn't go in to work tonight. Wasn't feeling up to it, my shoulders were still hurting. We dropped Pudd'n off at my mom's as usual and we decided to head down to C.C. for some munchies and visit with Kerry.
Steve sudgested a movie when we were done, so we headed out to the video store.
As we left I noticed our friend Kelly in the parking lot.
Kelly was running.
Kelly is the mother of TWO autistic sons. One is really severe with a lot of behavioral issues. One big issue is running off and or sneaking out of the house. He's been found by police walking on the freeway two times. Kelly had to finally put her son in a group home. He's a head taller than her and his issues were out of her control. That woman did everything she could for him too.
So, back to Kelly running.
It finally clicked in our pea brains that her son must be home for the weekend and he bolted again.
Steve spots him and goes running after the boy. I kept up best I could, I had on 3 inch sandals. Steve catches they boy and he & Kelly try to get him under control. Kelly is out of breath and her son is putting up a good fight. We ask where her younger son is and she had to leave him parked in the car while she chased her older son. Steve got the keys from her and I took a hold of Peter. Kelly and I steered Peter to the car while Steve ran ahead to see if the younger son Tim was ok. Tim wasn't phased by any of this. He's pretty high functioning autistic.
Kelly's husband finally shows up, I don't know where the hell he had gone to, but it took 3 of us to shove Peter back in the van. Steve put on the safty locks on the doors so Peter could not bolt again.
Steve and I were pretty shaken up. Peter is a big kid, he's a head taller than both of his parents. One of my regular customers witnessed all this and I briefly explained to her what was going on. It was quiet a scene.
As we left I said "oh great, I'm suppose to be home resting and the last thing I need is some one to tell slappy I was out and about"
(remember, I'm suppose to be at work).
Steve said "Maeve, we were suppose to be here tonight to help out. Everything happens for a reason".
