WAITRESSING
Over at LL's place, she was talking about her nice birthday dinner out with the kids. Apparently the place she went to has the servers line dancing every hour or so. Made me think of all the things I've done over the years as a waitress/bartender.
Thank God none of them included line dancing.
Mostly it was singing happy birthday with a crowd of your fellow servers.
I had rented the movie "Waiting" again last weekend and damn, does that movie bring back memories. I used to do or have seen some of the shit that they did in the movie.
There is a sceen where "Monty" (don't know the actor's name) is standing there with his shirt half off and in the wise words of Sandy's teenage daughter "I'd like to pour chocolate over him and lick it off". I like to freeze that scene........MMMMM.
I think the most fun I had was at my first waitressing job. There was always a party when the place closed for the night and every one was always doing some sort of prank. One of my favorites was the high chairs. Every night they'd be lined up against the wall and you had to saran wrap a cracker & plastic bib on the tray. Well, Andy got bored one night and instead wrapped a steak knife, matches & ash tray on them.
I also had to wear an ugly yellow uniform with that job. I used to wear a garter belt under that ugly dress and lacy bras too. I was only 16.
Waitressing at the Harb*r House in my 20's was fun too. We'd take trips down to Mexico together and go shopping after our shifts. My saddest memory there was when Audry snuck out to go party with a friend one night and drove home drunk from a bar. She decapitated herself when she hit the center divider on the freeway.
