THE DAY AFTER.............
My house is all clean and in order from yesterday's festivities. Not that I did any thing to help put it back in order mind you, poor Steve did it all. I was content (really drunk) to lay upon the couch and watch Titanic on the telly (and drink more).
This year it went much smoother with picking up the marines on the base. They actually ran out of service members to adopt out for the day, a lot of people had wanted to sign up to bring them home. The young men were a little shier than last years boys. Hell, I had order one to call his momma!
Aussie and Athena actually arrived early! All 18 of us went in and got to our table. The food was to die for as usual and there were lots of golden there this year. Goat puppy was in heaven! We then took the young men down to the beach so they could ogle the girls in the bikinis. Some chinese tourists wanted their picture taken with Goat puppy, so I happily oblidged.
The day was wrapped up at my house with more food (and drink for me). Steve's step dad and his friend swapped war stories ('Nam) and everyone had a 2nd round of food. I packed up all the cookies I had baked for the boys to take back to base. Last year you couldn't bring food back, so I was happy to hear that rule changed this year. I hope all of you had a good day. I hope you gave thanks for all that you have in your life and I hope you gave thanks to your men & women of the armed services. With out their sacrifice, we wouldn't have freedom.
