Had Pudd'ns Individual Educational Program today. We talked over his goals that he met or did not meet for the year and set new ones for the fall. Then as we wrapped things up, Howard the principal has to bring up "bussing". I have ALWAYS drivin my little prince to and from school. It is my pleasure, it is my DUTY. Well, these nimrods (husband included) think it would be a good idea for him to at least ride the bus in the morning. Yes, I know it really is a good idea, we have to teach him independance, but mommy is NOT ready!!! As I shoot dirty looks at my mother in law, husband, case worker and pudd'ns teacher. I see Howard squirming from across the table and mumbling "I don't want to get in to the middle of this"....... Smart man.
Miss Kim says "well, you can always follow the bus". Don't think I won't! I shoot back. My mother in law rolls her eyes at me and I called her a pain in my ass (I said it with love!) All in all, everything went well. I know he'll like riding the bus, I'll pick him up from school and everything will be fine. What I am planning on doing is finding out the bus driver's name. Then I'm going to ask Coach (he's a retired cop) how I can check out the driver. Make sure he's a safe one and all. I know they do back ground check and finger print teacher's & staff. I don't know what they do for bus drivers.
Tomorrow it is back to reality and the work load. Steve starts his new job. I'd rather be on the beach, playing in the surf with my son and his dog.........
