What a day! Athena & Dru came over and loaded up on the short bus to go to Aunt Selma's. Lili & C joined us later. We had to make a stop at the store to load up on food. By our poor choice of selections, you'd thought we'd smoked a big fatty and then went shopping! Several kinds of chips, cookies, beer, wine, smirnoff coolers and lots of ice. Oh yeah, we did get some condiments for the burgers. Steve put up our umbrellas and we camped out. Pudd'n & Goat puppy were having a blast as usual in the water. It was a hot day, the water was perfect and the waves were small. We soon found ourselves in the water with Pudd'n. It was great fun! Lili and C soon showed up and the party really got started. Lili made margaritas, I drank more whiskey, we ate and went back out in the water. There were some dolphins out there and Lili was hell bent on trying to reach them. Steve actually came in the water for a bit, he blinded us with his white chest. He's got the farmer's tan thing going on. It was a great day and literally ended with a bang. We went up on the porch to eat our burgers, Dru went to go wash off her feet in the bucket/shower. When all of sudden "crack" and poor Dru screaming. One of the boards had broken and poor Dru fell through the floor!!!! On closer inspection, Aunt Selma has termites. The little fuckers are eating her deck. Poor Dru is going to have one hell of a bruse on her thigh and I'm sure she's going to be mighty sore.
Goat Puppy still has not moved since we got home. I can't blame him, he played hard in the water. Hell, I'm barely alive. How the hell does Pudd'n do it? He'll spend 3-4 hours non stop in the ocean and then go play in the park in the evening. All in all it was a great day (with the exception of Dru's boo boo). I'm actually hating to see summer end, just having a blast going in the ocean now.
If you have the time and a big box of Kleenex, stop over in "Caught in the X fire". She has a link to a site for a memorial dedicated to the people that lost thier lives in the attacks that happened 3 years ago on 9/11. Make SURE you have that kleenex, I'm going to go lite some candles myself right now.
