Down sizing.........Last year when Steve was coming home for lunch, he had noticed a large rock in the road and cars avoiding it. Then the rock moved. So Steve stopped and picked up the rock, which turned out to be a red eared slider turtle. We looked for a few weeks for any signs of a missing turtle, nothing. A year later we are tired of cleaning out a kiddie pool for the turtle and after repeated emails to a turtle rescue. They finally came through. Speedy the turtle is now living large in a pool with 18 other sliders. She has caves to hide in, bark to bury in and other friends to keep her company. Steve was blown away by this guy's house. It was 5, 500 sq ft!!! Hear that? Nope, me either. It is the sound of blessed silence. Again, last year we aquired a new pet. It was the birds. A friend of a friend was moving out of state and could not take the birds. I agreed to take them ONLY because they were outside birds. I know how messy those little fuckers are and didn't want that in my house. Well, they are cockatiels and noisy little shits. I just gave them to a co worker of my mother in law. She's got a daughter that has always wanted one. Well, now she has two. She's out of school for the summer, so she'll be able to hand tame them. And what is really nice is that it is still early enough in the day to pack our asses up and go spend a few hours at the beach!
